Overview

Shaping StratfordStratford’s Official Plan Reviewis all about helping the City build on its past success to implement its vision for the future.

The Official Plan includes a community vision and guiding principles, as well as general policy direction and a land use planning framework to guide the physical, social, economic and environmental management and growth of the City.  However the current Official Plan was developed in the 1990’s and, while it has been amended to reflect changes, it requires a complete review.

Shaping Stratford is about moving forward and realizing Stratford’s inherent potential — today and tomorrow.

This initiative will build on Stratford’s role as one of the top seven intelligent communities in the world, home of the Stratford Festival and the University of Waterloo’s Stratford Institute. Shaping Stratford is part of the City’s commitment to furthering Stratford’s economic prosperity, environmental leadership, innovation and creativity, and great place making.
