Shaping Stratford Status
Following a comprehensive review process including a statutory public open house on Tuesday February 11, 2014 and a statutory public meeting on Tuesday February 18, 2014, an updated Official Plan was adopted by City Council on May 27, 2014 through Official Plan Amendment No. 19. A complete copy of Official Plan Amendment No. 19 is available for inspection in the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 1 Wellington Street, Stratford during business hours 8:30 to 4:30 pm or Click here to view a copy of the Amendment. Official Plan Amendment No. 19 has been sent to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for approval. The Ministry may decide to approve, modify and approve as modified or refuse to approve parts or all of the Official Plan Amendment. Any person or public body is entitled to receive notice of the proposed decision of the Ministry if a written request to be notified of the proposed decision is made to the Ministry at the following address:

Statutory Public Meeting (Tuesday, Febraury 18, 2014, 7:00pm, Council Chambers) – The City held a statutory public meeting to hear all interested persons with respect to the consideration of proposed Official Plan Amendment No. 19 to the Stratford Official Plan pursuant to Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990 to implement the City’s Official Plan Review and Update. Statutory Public Open House (Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 7:00pm, Council Chambers) – The City hosted a Public Open House pursuant to Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, to provide the public additional information and to answer questions on proposed Official Plan Amendment No. 19 in advance of the Statutory Public Meeting. In addition, the Open House provided an opportunity for the public to obtain information and provide input to the City’s proposed Urban Design and Landscape Guidelines.

Vision Workshop (Wednesday, May 16, 2012 7:00pm, Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road, Tim Taylor Lounge) – This public workshop was held to develop an updated vision and guiding principles for the City, which will shape the community’s future to 2031 and on which the updated Official Plan will be based. Statutory Public Meeting (Monday, March 26, 2012, 7:30 pm, Council Chambers) – This was a special public meeting to provide an opportunity for public input into matters which should be considered as part of the Official Plan review and update.
